On this month’s case study, meet Tom Cornwell, managing partner of The Oakridge Partnership, and the owner of an absolutely amazing Villa Escarpa in Portugal. The video examines Tom’s overall design philosophy and how that approach was carried out during the Villa Escarpa Project.
This is probably one of the largest development we have taken on, said Tom – the owner of the Villa Escarpa, it was inherent from a building that we bought a long time ago and it was in a fantastic position overlooking the bay of Praia da Luz in Portugal.
Fire in a house is always the central feature, he added, It is the most important thing that people sit in front of, that people look at. Planika particular type of fire obviously has a quality feel and creates this luxury feel. Fire Line Automatic has a very thin line of flame but it is absolutely high grade stainless steel and absolutely fit perfectly. Everybody wants to see it lit even in the middle of summer.
Tom Cornwell is the owner of Villa Escarpa. He is also Managing Partner of The Oakridge Partnership, a Design and Construction practise based in UK and Portugal. Tom has a Commercial Management background in the drinks and leisure industry and lifelong passion for contemporary architecture. The Oakridge Partnership was established in 2001 to bring together a team able to manage the redesign and renovation of our own property portfolio from conceptual design, project management of planning and construction through to interiors and finishing. Their projects focus on taking existing properties and radically remodelling to create innovative, modern luxury spaces.
